The drop back bung completely revolutionises small stillwater indicator fishing, particularly on challenging days with light winds & pressured fish. At times an increase in hittable takes in the region of 40-60% over standard indicators, is possible. The drop back, cast's better, strikes easier and converts more takes than a standard indicator. Each Drop Back Bung is marked with black dots on both the Yellow and the Red (Orange) section of the bung. To properly load / cock the bung, so that it fishes as intended tie on the appropriate number of Croston Flies marked with either a Red or Yellow dot. So, to load the Medium Bung correctly, you need to rig up one fly with a Red dot OR two flies with Yellow Dots.

Disappointing

I got the medium indicators, after seeing them in action on YouTube. They are a disappointing offering from Fulling Mill in my opinion and based on using them, I wouldn't recommend them. They are basically small waggler floats, very light (don't interfere with casting) and should give better indication of drop bites and lift bites. But using them, they didn't! Surprisingly, for a fulling mill product, the manufacturing quality is poor. The paint rubs off when it gets wet. To cock the float correctly, you must use heavy flies (or split shot, or lead wire), or it just lies flat on the surface. Heavy flies don't facilitate on the drop bites, or more importantly with bung fishing, twitching the bung to lift the fly and encourage a take on the drop. I tried them, and have binned them. The small bungs available from Duo Hook will perform much better in my opinion.
