Daiwa 24 Emcast BR LT 4000 – Lightweight Bait Reel for Pike and Salmon Fishing
The Daiwa 24 Emcast BR LT 4000 is a lightweight yet powerful reel designed for bait fishing where smooth line control, dependable drag performance and durability are important. With its 4000 size, 12kg drag and 5.2:1 gear ratio, it is well suited to pike fishing and salmon bait fishing with medium to heavier setups.
The reel combines Daiwa's LT Light & Tough concept with Airdrive construction, an ATD drag system and a DS4 body and rotor. This gives anglers a responsive reel that remains easy to handle while still offering the strength needed for hard-fighting fish. The supplied spare spool also makes it easier to carry a second line setup for different fishing situations.
On Irish rivers, lakes and loughs, the Emcast BR LT 4000 is a practical choice for static and bait-based fishing where controlled line release and strong drag pressure are required. Its 82cm retrieve per handle turn offers a useful balance between speed and control, while the LC-ABS spool design supports efficient casting when fishing larger swims or wider water.

Why It Works for Irish Anglers
The 4000 size gives the Emcast BR LT enough capacity and drag strength for a wide range of Irish bait-fishing situations without becoming unnecessarily bulky. Its 12kg drag provides useful control when fishing for pike in lakes and rivers or when handling powerful salmon in flowing water.
The spare spool is especially useful for anglers who want to switch between different line types or diameters, while Twistbuster III and the LC-ABS spool help manage line efficiently during repeated casting. This makes the reel practical for long sessions where wind, flow and fishing distance can change throughout the day.
